Cross-reactivity
This Mab failed to recognize surface epitopes located on other bacterial, such as H. parasuis, P. haemolytica, P. multocida capsular types A and D, Haemophilus taxon minor group, and A. suis, K. pneumoniae and B. bronchiseptica. This Mab showed a high degree of reactivity with serotypes 4 and 7 and also detected some isolates belonging to serotypes 1, 2, 3, 6, and 8, as well as some nontypeable isolates

Proposed Utility
This MAb could be useful for the serological diagnostic of animals infected with serotypes 4 and 7 by inhibition ELISA or competition ELISA. Moreover, they could be useful as complementary reagents to polyclonal sera for serotyping of field isolates belonging to A. pleuropneumoniae serotype 4 or 7
