Antibodies

Mab 1E10

Antibody type and class

IgM

Assay System

Whole cell ELISA and slide agglutination tests

Cross-reactivity

This Mab failed to recognize surface epitopes located on other bacterial, such as H. parasuis, P. haemolytica, P. multocida capsular types A and D, Haemophilus taxon minor group, and A. suis, K. pneumoniae and B. bronchiseptica. This Mab exhibited 75.8 and 27.3% reactivities with 29 serotype 4 and 12 serotype7 isolates, respectively, and partial binding to serotype 1 and nontypeable isolates

Proposed epitopes

N/A

Proposed Utility

This MAb could be useful for the serological diagnostic of animals infected with serotypes 4 and 7 by inhibition ELISA or competition ELISA. Moreover, they could be useful as complementary reagents to polyclonal sera for serotyping of field isolates belonging to A. pleuropneumoniae serotype 4 or 7
