Modified Plasma Proteins are attractive carriers for drug targeting, since these are small molecules of relatively smaller molecular weight. And they can be modified easily by covalent modificaion by attachment of Peptides, ligands or drugs of interest. The carriers and the drug carriers conjugate rapedly and distribute either to hepatocytes of non-parenchymal cell, which is depended on the net protein charge. There some serious drawback's in using these proteins for non-hepatic drug targeting.
